Recently signed, 23-year-old Antonio Giovinazzi has completed his debut test in a Ferrari Formula One machine.
Antonio Giovinazzi drove an SF15-T, a car that Sebastian Vettel raced in the 2015 season, at Ferrari’s Fiorano private test track. Here is a link to a ‘toy version’ of the car (something which we can afford to buy. Cheers!).
Ferrari reported that Giovinazzi ran a test program, approved by the formula one governing body, FIA, aimed at making a comparison between data acquired in the virtual simulator and on the real-life track.
Scuderia Ferrari announced an agreement of cooperation with the Italian driver Antonio Giovinazzi to take on the role of the Third Driver of the Scuderia for the 2017 season in late Dec. 2016.
Redbull’s Max Verstappen’ amateur days rival is chasing him for an F1 showdown?
After the ‘dream come true’ moment Antonio Giovinazzi said that it was a wonderful feeling, as it was his first time driving a Formula One car. He admitted that for an Italian, driving out of the pits in a Ferrari is an amazing experience.
He added that the actual testing was very interesting, with so many procedures to follow. But the guys in the team were very nice to him and extremely helpful, and that made everything much easier. Giovinazzi thanked the whole team.
